Another "unlucky" cat has been retired from my home. Why? Because of hormonal imbalance. Starting at one and a half months old, she went into heat continuously for a month. The prolonged heat caused severe hair loss in patches down to the skin. I couldn't wait any longer and took her to the vet for an abdominal ultrasound. It turned out her ovaries had swollen abnormally due to the extended heat cycle, and small cysts had formed, which further stimulated the heat cycle—creating a vicious loop. With no other options and knowing pregnancy isn't safe so soon after giving birth, we decided on spaying surgery. Her ovaries were so enlarged that while a typical spay requires just one stitch, hers needed two or three stitches. The good news is that she recovered incredibly fast after surgery. The bald spots are already regrowing, and her weight has skyrocketed (she's now over 13 pounds). This is my retirement announcement. If you're interested in adopting, please contact me—I'm only looking for homes in Beijing and surrounding areas. She's quite introverted and takes time to warm up, but once comfortable, she becomes an incredibly lively, playful, food-loving, chubby companion! As always: existing adopters can adopt for free; new adopters pay a refundable deposit based on annual veterinary check-up reports. That's all for now. If I don't find a suitable home, I'll keep her myself—hehe. I love cats like this who eat with such enthusiasm; just watching them makes my day brighter!
